Jr/Sr High School holds First Quarter Character Awards

The Mayfield Jr/Sr High School held its first Character Assembly on Tuesday, Nov. 12 to recognize students who have demonstrated a strong sense of character, focusing on the traits of citizenship, curiosity, dedication, determination, model student behavior, perseverance, positive contributions to our school, foreign language excellence and sportsmanship. Each department selected students they feel have embodied these traits in the first quarter of the school year.

In honor of Veterans Day, the assembly also featured veterans and Mayfield alumni Daniel Izzo, Fulton County Undersheriff and retired US Navy SEAL; Ron Lennon, Fulton County Sheriff Deputy and retired US Navy man; and Kevin Capobianco, Mayfield CSD Board of Education member and retired US Marine. They discussed the importance of displaying good character in all you do, and how the positive traits they developed at Mayfield led them to serve our country and community, and helped them live successful, productive lives.
