Job Description:
Mayfield Central School District, located near the Great Sacandaga Lake in the Southern Adirondacks, and approximately 40 miles northwest of the Capital District, is seeking an experienced Jr/Sr High School Science teacher in the General Science/Physics 7-12 preferred certification area for a full-time (1.0 FTE) probationary position.
Must be a creative and passionate educator who possesses the ability to motivate students to strive for academic excellence. Successful candidates will work in a fast-paced, challenging environment that is dedicated to academic and social success for all students. We are looking for collaborative team players that have the desire to become part of a dynamic team.
- Collaborate with colleagues and utilize various curriculum resources to create objective-based lessons aligned to current NYS learning standards.
- Actively engage students in the delivery of high-quality instruction.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of all students.
- Utilize data to inform instructional decisions.
- Establish a supportive classroom environment that provides for the social-emotional learning of all students.
- Grade student work and maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and grades.
- Effectively communicate with parents and students regarding academic progress.
- Attend required meetings and participated in professional development opportunities.
- Provide instruction that reflects the diverse educational, cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
Certifications/Experience/Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a NYS 7-12 Physics Certification to be considered for this position, and a copy of certification must be submitted along with current resume, cover letter and a minimum of two (2) reference letters.
