Mayfield Elementary School is thrilled to kick-off their participation in a very special community service program: The American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge. By participating in the Kids Heart Challenge, Mayfield students will join millions of other children across the country in a meaningful opportunity to learn about heart-healthy lifestyles and raise money to help others. The Kids Heart Challenge teaches students how cardiovascular disease affects people, how their own hearts work, and how proper nutrition and physical activity can keep their heart healthy.
The Kids Heart Challenge main event will take place on Friday, Feb. 7 during physical education class. Feb. 7 is National Wear Red Day and all students, teachers and volunteers should wear RED on the day of the Kids Heart Challenge event to support the American Heart Association.
Over the past 15 years Mayfield students have raised $231,899.08 dollars! This year, Mayfield has set a $250,000 Lifetime Goal and will need raise $18,101 to get there. Donations will be accepted from now until Friday, February. 7.
