This cold snap is tough on all of us; the same holds true for the school district.
Superintendent Jon Peterson said that a number of our rooms and corridors, particularly in the junior/senior high school experienced cold temperatures yesterday. Part of the reason is that unlike in the elementary school where both new boilers are operational, to date only one of the two new planned boilers has been installed in the junior/senior high school.
Contractors have been on site since early this morning to correct the situation and temperatures have increased to most rooms, with the exception of a high school art room, the elementary library and the weight room. The contractors are working to bring temporary heaters for those areas.
