Over the summer, ninth-grader Bella Romano partnered with Mayfield Grill and was able to raise $175 toward the Mayfield BackPack Program, which provides food for students in need.
Bella then partnered with Wallys Driftwood Park, putting out bins to collect recyclables during the boating season. She collected deposit bottles and cans weekly and turned them in at Food and Fuel.
With the help of local Mayfield businesses and families, she raised $630 in bottle and can money. In total, Bella was able to give $805 to the program to help ensure Mayfield students in need will stay successful in school.
She recently presented a check to Jr/Sr High School counselor Joelle DiDomenico and Principal John Bishop.
